In this new Housing LIN guest blog, the second in a series commissioned by the Housing LIN to mark the 30th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Gary Bourlet, Membership and Engagement Lead, and co-founder of Learning Disability England, explores his journey as a self-advocate and activist.

Drawing on over 35 years of campaigning experience, Gary reflects on the DDA’s historic legacy, the progress since, and the challenges that remain. He goes on to highlight the vital role of reasonable adjustments, the importance of accessible housing, and his hopes for achieving true equality in the future.
