Kris Peach calls for a long-term national vision for older people's housing in new blog

Ahead of his appearance at next week's International Day of Older People HAPPI Hour webinar, Kris Peach, Chief Operations Officer at Housing 21, draws on 16 years of experience visiting Retirement Living and Extra Care schemes to argue that the benefits of specialist older people's housing are proven, and should be acted on.

Residents consistently describe wanting safety, independence, community and control - the same outcomes housing, health and care leaders say they want to achieve. Kris argues the evidence on independence, loneliness, hospital discharge and pressure on public services is already strong, and calls for political will, funding certainty and a 10-20 year national vision to match decades of evidence with real action.
