Knocked Back: failing to support people sleeping rough with drug and alcohol problems is costing lives

This week St. Mungo's has published a summary report on homelessness and drug and alcohol related issues and services - which is one of the most in-depth reports to come out for 20 years reveals the link between the homelessness and drug and alcohol related issues. It states that, over the last year, at least 12,000 people experiencing homelessness have not received vital drug and alcohol support.

The report also details some of the major statistics on homelessness and drug and alcohol related issues -  such as that funding for drug and alcohol services has been cut by more than one quarter in amount since 2015/16. The report contains evidence from data analysis, in-depth interviews and peer research from across the country, to gain an insight into the drug and alcohol related problems and the challenges faced around gaining housing and support.
