Housing for older people in the spotlight at Scotland's Housing Festival

Our CEO, Jeremy Porteus, joined Angela Currie, Hanover Scotland's CEO, on the platform yesterday at the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland annual conference in Glasgow.

Chaired by ITV's Vanessa Taaffe, it was the first time housing for older people has taken centre stage at the event.

Drawing on the Older People’s Housing Taskforce report in England and with an upcoming Scottish election, it was timely to call for a national housing strategy for an ageing population to address the need for new age-friendly designed mainstream homes, investment in adapting existing stock and more specialist housing for older people in Scotland.
