Housing and Tech leaders recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

We are really pleased to see several key housing industry figures recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours, announced on Friday. Congratulations particularly go to three ‘friends’ of the Housing LIN.

David Birkbeck, founder and CEO of Design for Homes. David is known for championing design quality and organising the national Housing Design Awards (opens new window). For the past decade, the Housing LIN has been proud to sponsor the HAPPI category. David also was a member of the original TAPPI Inquiry Panel and has contributed to various Housing LIN resources and events. He receives an OBE.

Aileen Evans, former CEO of Great Places Housing Association and a former Chartered Institute of Housin president, has been awarded an OBE for her services to housing. She has also contributed to work with the Housing LIN, especially during COVID when she was a member of our joint project with St Monica Trust on the impact of the pandemic on specialist housing for older people (opens new window). She is currently Project Director of Church Housing Association.

And Alyson Scurfield also receives an OBE for her services to technology enabled care. Alyson is CEO of the Tech Services Association and partnered the Housing LIN on the TAPPI 2 Inquiry demonstrator projects.
