Housing LIN Leads UKREiiF 2026 discussion on building intergenerational communities
We were pleased to chair the session “Lincolnshire: A Beacon for Intergenerational Living” at the Greater Lincolnshire Combined Authority Pavilion during UKREiiF 2026 (the UK's premier real estate, investment, and infrastructure forum), bringing together leaders from housing, design, development and community engagement to explore how intergenerational living can create healthier, more connected and resilient places.
Chaired by Lois Beech of Housing LIN, the panel included:
- Andy Warman - Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Lincolnshire Coop
- Cllr Ingrid Sheard - Deputy Mayor, Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority
- Jenny Buterchi - Partner, PRP Architects
- Tom Wilmot - Managing Director, Capital & Centric
- Cat Hall - Intergenerational Living Pollinator
Drawing on findings from the Housing and Care for Older People APPG Inquiry into Creating Intergenerational Communities, the discussion explored the role of intergenerational placemaking in addressing some of the UK’s most pressing housing, health and social challenges.
Topics included the commercial viability of intergenerational development, the importance of community infrastructure and neighbourliness, the role of policy in enabling delivery, and how thoughtful design can create the conditions for meaningful interaction between generations.
