Honoured to close the Almshouse Association research conference
Our Chief Executive, Jeremy Porteus, was honoured to close the Almshouse Association research conference at Ironmongers Hall in London yesterday.
With an illustrious cast of speakers, the event focused on the benefits of the almshouses movement in helping residents tackle loneliness and combat isolation by enabling more resilient communities through sensitive design and compassionate housing, care, and support services for older people.
Drawing on the Housing LIN term for creating more collaborative forms of housing and care for an ageing population, 'CollaborAGE', Jeremy told delegates:
“As anchor organisations, almshouses are ideally places to build a community chest in their localities and not leave things to chance”.
We are also delighted that the Almshouse Association has become a sponsor of the Housing LIN’s regional annual conference on 12 March in Bristol. There are still a few remaining places available. To register your interest, click here.
