Help Shape the Future of Homecare: Join the DomCare Study

Are you a manager of a homecare agency or housing-with-care scheme supporting adults in Kent, Surrey, Sussex, the East Midlands, or Yorkshire & Humber? We invite you to take part in DomCare, a three-year study funded by the NIHR Policy Research Programme, exploring the benefits and costs of domiciliary care.
This important research aims to address a significant evidence gap around people’s experiences of homecare and its impact on their quality of life. We are seeking providers to:
- Complete a short online survey this autumn (September–October 2025), and
- Distribute survey packs to the people you support in early 2026.
There is no financial cost to taking part. Survey packs will come with pre-paid envelopes, and financial compensation is available for staff time. If you're short on capacity, NIHR RRDN can offer additional support.
Your participation may positively support your CQC quality rating, and you’ll receive benchmarking briefs comparing your clients’ quality of life to similar services.
Housing LIN is proud to support this important research project.
Jeremy Porteus, the Housing LIN’s founder and CEO said:
“We are delighted to partner with this research project from a housing perspective. Whether self-funded or planned care received by people in mainstream housing or those living in purpose-built accommodation, such as extra care housing or supported living, we look forward to better understanding the value of the care and support across a range of accommodation settings and the impact it makes on the quality of lives of people who rely on care and support in a home of their choice.”
