Happy to announce this year’s Housing Design Awards HAPPI winner

We are pleased to advise that Arcadis’ Englishcombe Lane supported housing development has won this year's Housing Design Awards HAPPI prize. With an increasing focus on designing for neuro-diversity across all ages, the scheme delivers much-needed supported housing accommodations in Bath for individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and mobility issues.

At yesterday’s awards ceremony at Coin Street, London, 11 recipients received a national Housing Design Award, including Arcadis for this HAPPI-inspired affordable supported housing development for Bath & North East Somerset Council. Now in their 77th year, the Housing Design Awards unite major built-environment institutions (RICS, RIBA, RTPI) with government and housing agencies to spotlight the best new residential places. Established in 1948 to improve quality through information, the awards offer a rich, detailed, freely accessible database of case studies and films.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Housing LIN’s CEO, Jeremy Porteus, said:

"We are delighted to support the HAPPI category at this year’s Housing Design Awards and to see so many shortlisted schemes meeting the HAPPI design principles. Following the Older People’s Housing Taskforce report, which recommended creating age-friendly communities in local design and spatial planning, it demonstrates the sector’s commitment to designing age-inclusive, care-ready housing and what can be achieved. Congratulations , Arcadis for winning this award."
