We're excited to announce our plans for a second cohort of Future Leaders, commencing in early 2022.

With thanks to Thirteen Group’s support, we want the new network to be a small, diverse and dynamic community of younger, early career individuals. We are now looking for up to 10 committed people with an interest in housing for an ageing population to be part of our second intake.

Chris Smith, Thirteen Group’s Executive Director of Business Growth said:

‘Thirteen are delighted to support the Housing LIN’s future leaders programme for a second year running. We’re passionate about developing talent in the housing sector, and have a strong drive to create better choice for our ageing population. This programme will give our future leaders the opportunity to learn from industry experts, equipping people with the skills and knowledge needed nationally to help us drive forward our ageing better agenda in a housing context.’

Starting in January 2022, the year-long network will provide a valuable opportunity for successful applicants to learn through the lived experience of a selection of industry leaders about what/who inspired or influenced them and what qualities they looked out for to enable them to then develop their own leadership styles and credentials. Each session will encourage and create space for open discussion and skill sharing.

The 2022 cohort of Future Leaders can look forward to a series of three in person or online sessions through the year. In return, each Future Leaders will be invited to write a guest Housing LIN blog about their experience of being part of the Network and the learning and insights they have gathered during the course of the programme. In addition, they will be invited to present on these at the Housing LIN’s Annual Conference in December 2022.

Reflecting the Housing LIN’s commitment to lifelong learning, diversity and inclusivity, the programme is aimed at early career individuals with no more than 3 years’ experience in their current role.

The Housing LIN’s CEO, Jeremy Porteus, said:

‘This is a really exciting programme that draws on the experiences of leadership beyond the housing industry. And, with an emphasis on relationship building, we offer a unique opportunity to better understand the leadership qualities that have helped forge partnerships within housing, health and care economies to deliver better outcomes for our ageing population.’

To be considered for the Future Leaders’ Network, please send us your CV along with a concise statement (250-300 words) outlining your reasons for taking part and what you would bring to the network, as well as confirming your employer’s support to be released to participate.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday, 5 November 2021. Email us at: info@housinglin.org.uk
