First Housing LIN Future Leaders Network session

The Housing LIN has held the first session in its Future Leaders Network programme.

Sponsored by Thirteen Group, the free network is fostered by a programme of events that provide the opportunity to meet key industry leaders, and to produce and present a cooperative project and share their learning at the 2020 Annual Housing LIN Conference in March.

Clare Skidmore of the Housing LIN said:

I have been so impressed by the intelligence and enthusiasm of all the Future Leaders, as demonstrated throughout the first session of the programme, with a full day of discussion and ideas. Thank you so much to our sponsors, Thirteen, for making this exciting initiative possible, and to Katey Twyford, who led an insightful and thought-provoking session about 'Career Anchors', getting us all to think about what motivates us in our careers. I am so looking forward to working with the group to take forward a joint project, and also to future sessions, where we will hear from inspirational speakers, and delve deeper into a number of themes, which will include technology and innovation, and the role of housing in enabling connection between people and communities.

Eleanor Moonan-Howard of the University of Southampton was one of the particpants. She said:

I am thrilled to be a part of the HousingLIN Future Leaders Programme it offers a unique space for discussion, collaboration, and skill sharing between early career professionals across industries. Our first meeting provided the opportunity to reflect on my own career trajectory and to gain insight into the parallel careers of my peers in the Future Leaders Programme, in a session run by Katey Twyford. The informal and approachable environment fostered some insightful debates about the future of housing and care, which led into a productive brainstorming session about how the cohort will move forwards on a collaborative project. I am really excited to see how our project evolves and looking forward to learning more from my fellow Future Leaders and from the exciting speakers lined up for the upcoming sessions.
