Dementia Awareness week 2019 - best practice in reducing loneliness

For Dementia Awareness Week from 20-26 May this year, the Housing LIN would like to gather examples of where extra care schemes or other housing related community services have supported people with dementia to develop meaningful relationships to prevent unwanted social isolation or reduce loneliness.

We are looking for all sorts of examples: informal arrangements supported by staff or other residents as well as more formal service provision.

If you have any examples that you would like to share please send details to Katey Twyford and Wendy Wells, Housing and Dementia co-leads for the Housing LIN, via dementia@housinglin.org.uk by Tuesday, 23rd April.

In particular, it would be great if you could provide:

  1. Name of the organisation
  2. Type of intervention or service
  3. Short description of what is it / what it has achieved (no more than 400 words)
  4. Contact details, if anyone would like further information
  5. Your organisation’s twitter handle

Please confirm if your organisation agrees to their details being shared via the Housing LIN website or Twitter. We can anonymise any examples if needed.

Please send your examples to dementia@housinglin.org.uk by Tuesday, 23rd April.
