We are pleased to announce that Bield Housing & Care (opens new window), a leading housing association providing homes and support for older people across Scotland, has become the first Scottish sponsor of Housing LIN, the professional network for those working in housing, health, and social care.

With a network of over 15,000 members, we are at the forefront of connecting professionals, exchanging ideas, and sharing resources to shape and influence the way housing with care is developed and delivered for older people and working age adults with disabilities. We take pride in sharing stories from people living in supported and specialist housing, curating tools and resources, hosting events on housing and technology-enabled care, and signposting to best practice and research on innovative new projects, schemes and services that make a real difference to people’s lives across the UK.

We are therefore pleased to share that this sponsorship further strengthens the strong relationship between Bield and Housing LIN, having been the only Scottish testbed to take part in the Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation (TAPPI) project - an initiative that explored how technology can support people to live well and independently in later life.

By becoming a Housing LIN sponsor, Bield is underlining its commitment to sector collaboration, knowledge-sharing and innovation in housing with care.

Debbie Collins, Chief Executive of Bield, said:

"We are proud to be the first Scottish sponsor of Housing LIN, building on our long-standing partnership and shared vision for better housing with care. As Scotland faces the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population, it is vital that we learn from each other, exchange ideas and showcase innovation that enables people to live well in the right home with the right support. Working with Housing LIN gives us the opportunity to amplify Scotland’s voice within a UK-wide network, while bringing fresh thinking and best practice back to the communities we serve."

Jeremy Porteus, Chief Executive of Housing LIN, said:

“We are thrilled that Bield Housing & Care has joined the close family of Housing LIN sponsors and is the first in Scotland. This will not only greatly assist in maintaining our dedicated webpages but also contribute to how we can further partner to shape the direction of policy, research, and practice on Scottish housing with care for an ageing population.”

This partnership marks an exciting step forward in promoting innovative, person-centered housing solutions across Scotland and the wider UK.
