An impressive Day One at the Global Intergenerational Congress 2026
In true intergenerational style, the Housing LIN’s Jeremy Porteus and Lois Beech gave a joint presentation on the recent APPG Inquiry report, ‘Creating Intergenerational Communities’ at this year’s Glasgow conference (opens new window), hosted by Generations Working Together.
The Congress at the University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre saw delegates from 18 countries from around the world share latest on intergenerational policy, practice and research from a broad spectrum of themes.
In their housing plenary session, Jeremy and Lois were joined by Winston Churchill Fellow, Savannah Fishel, who had given evidence to the APPG Inquiry along with Associate Professor Jill Juris from the US and Valence Rondeau from Canada. All shared inspiring international examples; from considerations for designing homes and the built environment inclusively for all ages to specific global examples of cohousing to Homesharing.
Earlier Jeremy and Lois were also thrilled to meet Judith Ish-Horowitz from the pioneering Honey and Apples nursery school in Wandsworth, London, which is integrated with Nightingale House residential care and nursing home for older people.
