New Housing LIN guest blog looks at COVID-19 lockdown: Unlocking mental health services for homeless people

This Housing LIN's latest guest blog gives personal insight into the newly formed Homeless Mental Health Team (HMHT) at the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Written by Julie Mordin, a mental health nurse working in homelessness in Gloucestershire, she describes how during Covid-19, she has been working with partners to provide short term accommodation, termed Safe Spaces, to homeless people.

She explains the remit of the HMHT how they identify the mental health needs of the people staying in the Safe Space and try to build sustainable relationships to link them into resources available both within and outside of the NHS.
