Event Date
The Housing LIN has been commissioned to undertake a Supported Housing Needs Assessment in Dorset that will estimate the future need for a supported housing for a range of people with care and support needs. We will then be using this evidence to produce a Local Supported Housing Strategy.
This is a requirement under the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023 (SHROA).
Overview
As part of this project, we are inviting housing and support providers to share their views on the types of supporting housing that are needed in Dorset aligned to the 3 supported housing categories in the SHROA guidance, these are:
- Older people’s supported housing
- Long-term supported housing
- Transitional supported housing
This workshop will focus on the need and demand for transitional supported housing, for example, transitional accommodation-based supported housing. Whilst it is recognised that there may be some overlap, it is anticipated that this may include the supported housing needs of:
- People with a mental health need
- People experiencing homelessness (single person and families)
- Survivors of domestic abuse
- Young people
- People experiencing substance misuse
- Veterans
- Prison leavers
- Asylum seekers and refugees
