Following the Grenfell Fire tragedy, there has been considerable work done around building safety legislation, including in specialist and supported housing, to improve the fire safety and evacuation of residents of specified residential buildings in England who would have difficulties evacuating the residential building by themselves in the event of a fire. Guidance has been produced around Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans [PEEPS], including for Registered Providers about the measures they must take.

Overview

Join our 150th HAPPI Hour webinar, since we commenced our online events during the pandemic, to hear from MHCLG officials about the resources and funding available to meet the cost of fire protection. We will also be joined by architects with first-hand experience in writing standards for specialist and supported housing and a specialist housing provider about the issues facing them and their residents with regard to implementation.
