Event date


This Hack event provides an opportunity to develop practical solutions to the real life challenges housing providers are facing when taking advantage of technology and innovation. It will explore the opportunities and identify actions for transformative change in this area.

It follows a previous event jointly run by the Housing LIN and Appello in June 2019, which identified several pressing issues and opportunities which, it was agreed, merited further detailed discussion.

At the heart of the event will be a choice of two working groups, each taking their lead from the top themes emerging from the previous event. One group will tackle the issues and challenges of the procurement of connected technology, and another will explore the potential opportunities and benefits of collaborative approaches to innovation in this area, between housing partners and others.

Draft Agenda

  • 9.30am: Arrival and tea / coffee
  • 10am: Introduction and summary of themes from the last session
  • 10.15am: Group work (two groups: Collaboration and Procurement)
  • 11.00am: Break
  • 11.15am: Feedback of key conclusions and top actions from each group
  • 11.30am: Final discussion about key issues identified, actions proposed, and the strategic implications for housing, care and technology.
  • 12.15pm: Close and lunch.
