Join us at the HEARTH Symposium to explore net-zero solutions and health resilience against extreme heat in the built environment.
HEARTH (opens new window) (National Hub on Net Zero, Health and Extreme Heat) is a £7.4 million UKRI- and NIHR-funded national research hub, led by Oxford Brookes University in partnership with University College London, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the University of Leeds, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Exeter. Public sector partners include the Greater London Authority, Oxfordshire County Council, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, and Forest Research.
HEARTH brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, industry and communities to understand how the transition to net zero can reduce health risks associated with extreme heat while improving climate resilience for vulnerable populations living and working in homes, care settings, hospitals and prisons.
This one-day symposium will bring together leading UK and international experts to share the latest research, policy developments and practical solutions for building heat resilience across the built environment.
Programme Themes
- The Challenge - Climate Change and Health
- The Evidence - Research Across Settings
- International Learning
- From Research to Implementation
- The Future - Innovation and Collaboration
The symposium will also include keynote presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities.
