Focus Group - Help shape practical tools to support older people in your community (District Councils)
Councils across the UK are facing the growing challenge—and opportunity—of an ageing population. As more of us live longer lives, it’s essential that our towns, cities and neighbourhoods work well for people of all ages.
To make this easier, Centre for Ageing Better, ARUP, and Housing LIN are working together to develop practical tools and resources to help councils take an age-friendly approach to planning, policy, and service delivery.
Centre for Ageing Better already supports almost 100 local authority areas through the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities. These are all authorities who have committed to making their communities a better place to age by following the eight key domains in the World Health Organisation’s Age-friendly Cities and Communities framework.
We want to build on this work and hear directly from people working in a range of roles in every type of council to make sure these new tools reflect what would help you in your day-to-day work.
Whether you’re new to the concept of age-friendly communities or looking to build on existing work, this is a chance to help create resources that will make it easier for councils to plan for our ageing society.
By taking part, you’ll gain insights and practical ideas to help you design places that work for everyone—now and in the future.
