Setting up supported living in Leicester

Hi can someone please help, I want to start a supported living business but I have no clue what to do with accomodation. Someone mentioned that you do not need to have your own accomodation or find private rented houses. Is this true?

Hi Connie

I’m a nurse and from Leicester. There’s lots of ways to do it, either through your own property or renting off someone else. Email me and we can have a chat, I’m also interested in this avenue

Hi Connie, I am a Consultant Occupational Therapist who has just retired from Nottinghamshire County Council where I have been specialising with Supported Living accommodation design for the last 8 years. Now you need to identify which client group you are considering looking after. Supported Living covers a large spectrum of clients - Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Challenging behaviour and Transforming Care. You also need to identify where you are going to get your clients from! I would suggest initially you discuss this with your local County Council or City Council if it is Unitary. All Councils have there own way of working, so I suggest that this is your first step.

Hi John
Thank you very much for your detailed response. I will definitely get in touch with my local Council.

Much appreciated.
