Following this year’s APPG on Housing and Care for Older People Inquiry on housing in later life and dementia chaired by Lord Best, and the announcement in recent Adult Social Care White Paper that the government will launching a Dementia Strategy in 2022, this session put the spotlight on how the sector is responding to the challenge to deliver on the key strategic and operational findings and recommendations from the Inquiry report, Housing for people with dementia: Are we ready?. It featured the views from Housing 21 and one of their residents, and the latest research and practice developments, including the launch of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and University of Manchester report examining how we can improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers in Greater Manchester through housing.
