Published by the Centre for Ageing Better in partnership with Demos, supported by the Dunhill Medical Trust, this report reveals how a small investment in improving the safety, heating and accessibility of the nation’s poorest-quality homes could have substantial economic benefits.

The report argues this government and future ones will need to invest their limited resources into policies that deliver significant multiplier effects that generate the greatest positive social, economic and environmental impact.

The report recommends a number of policies to help facilitate and fund a massive uptake in home improvement work nationwide, and outlines the need for the government to focus on policies that have the biggest multiplier effects because of low growth and high public debt.
