Reception hosted at House of Lords following a successful Housing LIN Summit

After a successful Housing LIN Summit 2024 - A Festival of Ideas (recording now available), we were pleased to extend a very warm welcome to the event's sponsors and guests reception hosted at the House of Lords on Wednesday 13 March 2024.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Lord Richard Best for graciously hosting yesterday's reception. He has played a pivotal role in our endeavours, particularly championing the Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) principles, and more recently, in the work of The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Housing and Care for Older People.

The Housing LIN team is proud to serve as Secretariat to the Inquiry on the Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing, with the report set to be released in June.

The reception provided an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate the recent success of the Housing LIN Summit 2024 - A Festival of Ideas, expressing our thanks to all our Summit sponsors and supporters for their ongoing commitment. Their support enables us to continue offering learning and improvement events free of charge to our members.

  • Extend appreciation to several organisations that have commissioned our small consultancy team for their impressive work in better understanding customer needs and aspirations, conducting service reviews or assisting in the development of strategic plans in response to the latest policy and practice developments.

  • Congratulate the 2023/24 cohort of participants in the Future Leaders Programme, a selection of early career professionals. Many of them were present at yesterday's reception, along with sector leaders who generously shared their leadership journeys. This year’s cohort has been supported by Inspired Villages and their CEO, Jamie Bunce, who presented the group with their certificates of completion. Applications are now open for the 2024/25 programme, with a deadline of Friday 3rd May 2024.

As the reception drew to a close, we celebrated the broader work of the Housing LIN, engaging in discussions on various learning and improvement activities aimed at championing better housing, health, and social care, as well as supporting choices and technological solutions for an ageing population.

On the technology front, the Housing LIN team will be attending the TEC Services Association's (TSA) International Technology Enabled Care Conference 2024 next week, where we will unveil the findings and tools from Phase 2 of The Dunhill Medical Trust-funded project.
