Housing our Ageing Population: Positive Ideas - Making retirement living a positive choice (opens new window)

Email HAPPI 3 This new APPG inquiry report urges the Government to offer similar incentives for last-time buyers as are now in place for first time buyers.

Written by inquiry secretary, Jeremy Porteus, it draws on evidence presented over 4 inquiry sessions and calls on local authorities to recognise the social and economic benefits of right-sizing in their local plans and planning policies.

Retirement housing providers, the report says, should also do more to support people looking to move to more appropriate housing by developing clear and transparent information around fees and other costs that offer greater choice and control.

Invitation to Tender for review of the role of home adaptations in improving later life (opens new window)

CAB Older People PicCentre for Ageing Better has issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for a review of the evidence into how home adaptations can contribute to improving people's later lives. The ITT has been produced following feedback on a draft plan for the research, which Ageing Better issued in April. It is intended the review will provide evidence to help influence a range of organisations and practitioners, including occupational therapists and healthcare professionals through to architects and policy makers.

The deadline for submissions is 12:00 noon on 21st July 2016. If you have any questions about the ITT or the tender process please contact info@ageing-better.org.uk
