Teresa Atkinson is a Senior Research Fellow with the Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester.  She has a long career in social care research and is passionate about translating research findings into practice and education.  Her work is grounded in understanding the lived experiences of people whose voices often go unheard. 

She has a background in psychology and neurological disorders including autism and dementia.  Within her role at the Association for Dementia Studies, Teresa leads on research projects with a particular focus on Extra Care Housing.  She is also work stream lead for Enabling Environments for people living with dementia and teaches two modules on the Postgraduate Certificate in Dementia Care modules; one focusing on environments, the other on family carers.
