Lord Richard Best is an Independent Crossbencher in the House of Lords and Chair of the Devon Housing Commission. He is a Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People, former Chair of the Affordable Housing Commission and a past President of the Local Government Association.
He has chaired Hanover Housing Association and The Property Ombudsman’s Council. He was Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for 18 years and has chaired nine “HAPPI” Inquiries covering aspects of housing for our ageing population.
