Tahir commenced his career in housing in 1989, aged 22, as a trainee and has held many senior roles since. He is experienced in transformational change management - both strategic and operational - with a strong focus on communities, tenants and residents, with a particularly strong focus on older people with disabilities. He has developed a specialism in assistive technologies as a result.
Tahir has worked for a wide range of housing associations, from small, community-led associations to industry-leading providers, such as Places for People and Together Housing. In his last role he transformed the inclusion performance through innovation, collaboration, and a keen understanding on what works, leading to widespread recognition in the sector for his employer. He is currently Respect & Inclusion Partner at Housing 21, one of the largest Housing & Care providers for older residents and is driven by a passion to make a difference wherever he operates.
