After many years working in local government, the NHS and voluntary sector Margaret set up her own company in 2004 offering service design, evaluation and research to providers and commissioners of health and social care. Her interest in all aspects of ageing was sparked while studying Gerontology at the University of London and much of her work is focussed in this area. She became the lead for the London region of the Housing LIN in 2011 and is also an associate of the LIN, working with colleagues on consultancy projects.

Margaret has a keen interest in creating age friendly housing, born out of work, study and personal experience with family members. Four years ago, she and her husband started mulling over the ways in which their newly purchased 1950’s house could be age-proofed. This culminated in an ambitious project to completely renovate the house, with the
intention that this will be their last home. Work on site began in the Summer of 2018. Margaret’s aim is to share learning from the project and encourage others to take action to create homes that are truly age friendly. Follow Margaret’s journey in her series of Housing LIN guest blog.
