Michelle is a town planner with a 25 year career working on regeneration projects from both the public and private sectors, including the Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002, Beswick masterplanning, Housing Market Renewal, Sheffield regeneration, Citylabs and the Manchester Our Town Hall project. A Mancunian born and bred, Michelle is passionate about supporting communities, creating better places and ensuring equal opportunities for all. She encourages diversity in the construction industry and has created work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for local people in her professional role.

Michelle is now the Director of Strategic Projects at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS Trusts in England. Her role at the Trust focuses on the forward strategy for the Trust's estate which includes 10 individual hospitals within it's portfolio. This includes the proposed wholescale redevelopment of North Manchester General Hospital site which has been identified as a 'Pathfinder' within the government's New Hospitals Programme.
