Research and Evaluation

We provide independent and rigorous research and evaluation services for policy makers, opinion formers, commissioners and providers. Some recent examples include:

  • An evidence review in relation to the role that housing associations can play in supporting the NHS to avoid and minmising delayed discharges of care for older people, supported by case studies evidence and proposals for how housing associations can deliver these types of services successfully.
  • Research into best contemporary practice by local authorities and their partners in England in relation to widening housing opportunities and options for older people through informed use of the planning system, developing strong cross sector partnerships and enabling housing that works for the widest cohort of older people.
  • Extensive and detailed qualitative research and stakeholder engagement with residents and the wider community for local authorities and providers to inform their local strategies and plans in relation to housing, care and support for older and disabled people.
  • Working alongside Government bodies to provide expert advice and research services to support both innovative policy development and develop guidance to support policy implementation.

We also work closely with research councils and academic bodies to support knowledge transfer via our extensive range of communication and dissemination channels and networked activities.
