I would like the place where I live to facilitate me being as much as possible outdoor, if safe also in the beach. 00:44:03 Dr Cate Pemble: Great point @Sara De Marco - important not just to think about what we like to do at home (and if we will have space to do it if we need to adapt), but whether we're able to keep engaging with the things we love to do out there in the world, even if the HOW has to shift and change. 00:46:14 Housing LIN | Sally Razey: Read “Scarlett Buckling and the Case of the Missing Pictures”, a mystery novel that follows 12-year-old Scarlett as she investigates her gran’s fading memories – exploring dementia, family bonds, and the courage to face life’s hardest moments: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scarlett-Buckling-Case-Missing-Pictures/dp/0722356161 00:48:00 Fane - Book: that is the one literally currently being talked about 00:51:11 Dr Cate Pemble: Quick skim of the hobbies people mentioned in chat which included: Watching and refereeing football, gardening, allotments, making cakes, making clothes, playing cards, enjoying green spaces and interacting with animals. Notice most Big-A (formal, often medical) adaptations don't support these, while many little-a (informal, ad-hoc, 'home improvements) do. We need homes that give the space for storage, that have the features that support us; but they need to be filled with the little a changes that help us do what we love. As vital, as central, not a 'nice to have'. 01:02:27 Dr Cate Pemble: For anyone else who's nosy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_4TakaBFVY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R69jW-rSJoQ 01:04:35 Dr Cate Pemble: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ1kNsoREw8 01:05:18 nharpham: Looks amazing. Our whole focus is on building relationships between the children and the residents and fun and purpose is core. 01:25:52 Fane - Book: Age segregation feels a little like a regression to school, where you are split by birth year, or more broadly into just a 5-7 year clump 01:26:12 Julian: I have seen younger adults (with learning disabilities) in ECH working really well in schemes in Wales. 01:26:56 Judith Ish-Horowicz: Totally agree with Cate. intergenerational communities are not 'nice', they are essential 01:27:04 Dr Cate Pemble: Makes total sense to me- I did a few years of autism support, and a lot of the strategies and tools we used there are slowly making their way into dementia practice now. 01:29:08 Housing LIN | Sally Razey: A reminder that today’s webinar recording, presentation slides and chat box links will be available later this week at https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Events/HAPPI-Hour-Dementia-Friendly-Fun/ For all forthcoming HAPPI Hour webinars, visit: https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Events/ForthcomingEvents/ 01:30:54 Sam: Thank you
