Whilst we want to try and get it right the first time., we should empower people with LD to take risks as we all do every day. Making mistakes is part of life, as long as we have mecanisms to support to "get on the horse " again 00:53:12 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: Produced by the Housing LIN for the Local Government Association - Specialised Supported Housing: guidance for local government and NHS commissioners https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Topics/type/Specialised-supported-housing-guidance-for-local-government-and-NHS-commissioners/ 00:54:57 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: As referred to by John, Building the right support: A national implementation plan to develop community services and close inpatient facilities can be found here: https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Topics/type/Building-the-right-support-A-national-implementation-plan-to-develop-community-services-and-close-inpatient-facilities/ 00:55:59 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: & the HLIN Consult report 'Supported housing for people with long-term care and support needs': https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Topics/type/Supported-housing-for-people-with-long-term-care-and-support-needs/ 00:58:37 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network launch their Charter: https://www.glh.org.uk/learning-disability-and-autism-housing-network-launch-charter/) 01:01:10 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: & you can find the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network Charter here: http://glh2020.k2l.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/LDAHN-Charter.pdf 01:08:40 Alison Cloutman: Agreed Sam 01:16:57 Jerome Billeter: Ian Gilders - Executive Director of Housing at Advance (ian.gilders@advanceuk.org) and Graeme Jackson - head of Housing Development and Shared Onwership (Graeme.jackson@advanceuk.org - plus best way for anyone to learn about HOLD Shared Ownership for People with Long-Term Disabilities is: https://www.advanceuk.org/services/shared-ownership 01:20:23 Sarah Watts: We (LA) have recently been asked about HOLD by a family supporting a young lady with learning disabilities to buy her own home, but as we are already developing S/O homes, she has since gone down the standard model route after finding a property she loves and meets her needs. But with her broader needs in mind we are providing some additional support in terms of the sales process (lots of extra hand holding / financial advice / consistent point of contact). Again it is about person led and personalisation. We are hoping to use this as a case study eventually to raise awareness of this as a housing option for people with LD / Autism. At the moment we have very little evidence around the market for HOLD schemes but would love to know more about developing this. thank you 01:24:56 Alison Cloutman: at Portsmouth, we have a team of supported housing officers for our supported portfolio, happy to share knowledge with others 01:25:10 Chris Hill: This type of service is called "intensive housing management" 01:25:38 Chris Hill: vital to support tenants to sustain their tenancies 01:26:49 Tiffany: One of the initiatives we have in Derbyshire is an Autism Information and Advice service that delivers free Autism awareness raising and training to statutory and affiliated services that is tailored to their role/service - this helps ensure as many services in Derbyshire are Autism aware as possible and support clients as appropriately as possible. This service also supports professionals in the County that need guidance supporting an Autistic person they are working with for free. 01:34:19 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: If you’re interested in learning more about Compassionate Neighbours – an award winning social movement – a network of trained local people who offer support to their local community, then please do sign up to attend Compassionate Neighbourhoods: communities that care HAPPI Hour on Tuesday 20th July: https://www.housinglin.org.uk/Events/HAPPI-Hour-Compassionate-Neighbourhoods-communities-that-care/ 01:34:35 Sally Taylor-Ridgway: And, the following week, on Tuesday 27th July, we find out how Phoenix Community Housing are embracing Passivhaus in their new intergenerational project in Lewisham, shortlisted for this year’s Housing Design Award.
