Social Value and Local Area Coordination

These reports take a detailed look at the social and financial benefits of Local Area Coordination (LAC).

The first report, takes a look at the return on investment in Derby and forecasts the return on investment for the Council. It found that £4 of social value is created for every £1 invested.

The second report shows that LAC has been successful in both Thurrock Council and Derby City Council and has since expanded to deliver community based, person focussed care in nine wards in Thurrock and ten wards in Derby over the past few years. Reaping comparable value, it found that the service has the potential to influence wider cultural change and a shift to community based services longer term; decreasing the reliance on traditional services.
